Cork and Blarney

It is located in the South-West Region and in the province of Munster. With a population of 119,230, it is the second largest city in the state and the third most populous in Ireland.

Cork City is at the heart of industry in the South of Ireland. Its main industry is pharmaceuticals, with Pfizer Inc. and Swiss company Novartis which has a lot of workers from the region. The most famous product of the Cork pharmaceutical industry is Viagra. Cork is also the European headquarters of Apple Inc. where over 3,000 staff are involved in manufacturing, R&D and customer support. Logitech and EMC Corporation are also important IT employers in the area

We arrived around 8 in the evening in Cork, we walked through the city and we had a quick meal. After that, we started our route through the main pubs in the city. Cork is a busy city at night, with lots of tourists and students. therefore it is not difficult to find pubs with nice life music. I was strongly recommended to go to Sin E pub where on a normal night ten different artists can play. Another awesome pub to go is Corner House.

The next Morning, after our Irish Brekfast ...

We toured the city again. We visited the English Market, which is the oldest one of its kind in Europe.

It has  plenty of local  Irish craft productss

After that we went to visit Blarney. We were delighted with the castle, the green gardens that surround it, and the many trails through the lush forests nearby. The castle just retains its structure, but it has great appeal. According to tradition if you kiss the "Blarney Stone", on top of a tower, you  get the gift of eloquence. Underneath the castle there is a small cave to visit where you can get, although you cannot reach the whole of it.

When we finished visiting Blarney we took the N22 road to Killarney. It is a small town in County Kerry, which is part of Killarney National Park. The city is full of pubs and nice restaurants, we ate quite well there.

After dinner we took the N21 road to Limerick, where we slept that night.
