Limerick and Cliff of Moher

After a long day, we arrived late in Limerick. It is located in the Mid-West Region and it is also part of the province of Munster. The city lies on the River Shannon, with the historic core of the city located on King's Island, which is bounded by the Shannon and the Abbey River.

We slept in a Hotel near the river. After an Irish breakfast we walked through the city and we visited some churches, the old milk market, commercial street, ... .

Later on we went to the river area where we visited the King John's Castle and  St Mary's Cathedral.

At noon we took the car and we said goodbye to the city as we were going to the Cliff of Moher.

The Cliffs of Moher are located at the southwestern edge of the Burren region. They rise 120 metres (above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag's Head), this is photo of this point.

and reach their maximum height of 214 metres (702 ft) just north of O'Brien's Tower).
